What is EAV Testing?

  • The term EAV represents - Electro-Acupuncture after Voll.
  • The term EDS represents - Electro-Dermal Screening

EAV / EDS Testing / Treatment

Both terms are used in describing this European Modern Acupuncture system, which are effectively the same system of testing via the bodies numerical electrical readings, commonly known as "energy" the primary objective of the testing being to determine which acupuncture meridians points need further measurement assessment in defining what is happening, and which acupuncture points need treatment.

The term electro-acupuncture does not mean that you get an "electrical shock" or something similar from testing or the treatment.

First and foremost it is a way of taking replicable accurate numerical measurement readings from a person to find out what is causing their particular condition or problem, using Western medical terminology.

The objective of using this type of accurate measuring system is to find out if there are any underlying causes that may have been missed or even forgotten about by the person, via the measuring protocols of EDS / EAV.

This is known as a causal chain and can be likened to an iceberg, with symptoms the persons symptoms being the most prevalent, but the cause or causes of the symptoms are "generated" from a deeper level or somewhere else, one example being headaches / migraines.

These could be caused by an underlying Liver or Stomach seemingly unrelated problem, whose actual cause maybe originating from a dental problem?

The proven ability of this system is to "track down" where the main area of concern is being generated from, is enhanced by having the ability to measure further individual acupuncture points.

It is a testing and treatment system found and evolved by Dr. Reinhardt Voll, of taking initial measurement readings from the fingers and toes of a person for evaluation.

The common known term being Meridians.

From this initial evaluation, further investigative numerical readings can be taken of individual points along the meridian or meridians identified as needing further evaluation.

It is a Modern Acupuncture system (not a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) system.

It can be used as a computerised system, which is a helpful for the patient in being able to see which points are being measured, and their relationships to organs or other body systems.

The recording of the numerical measurements also facilitates the ability to recover readings and graphs from previous testing / treatments appointments, to "see" if the person has improved, sometimes other areas will prioritise, or if the patient has moved residence these can be easily passed on to another EDS / EAV practitioner, just as with their clinical records.

This also can be utilised in research of acupuncture as one example.

Other systems like formulae or TCM do not use computerisation, like the Voll system of acupuncture. There are some computerised TCM systems, but they still do not measure as many Meridians or the individual points along meridians, another example being the Lymphatics as a system meridian.

One area mentioned on this web site already, are dental problems, these can be insidiously happening in the background, but having major effects on that persons body, causing seemingly unrelated health problems. Dental problems.

The ability to measure dental problems is NOT even recognised by Formulae or TCM systems of acupuncture, they rely on the patient for feedback.

Example Graphs

  • EDS / EAV numerical measurements of acupuncture points using a computerised EDS / EAV system in comparison with TCM pulse system of diagnosis.
  • The comparison of further assessments of individual acupuncture points from EDS / EAV and TCM systems.

A case history that comes to mind that is not related to the example graph above, is of a lady with quite bad sciatic pain in her right leg.

She had seen a number of practitioners with this complaint and received physical treatments of various kinds with no alleviation, this made me stop and think about what was possibly being missed?

So instead of treating her physically, with her permission I tested her with EAV, using a Mora unit, after taking readings, a dental problem was found on her back right molar.

When I enquired about the dental problem, she informed me that she was waiting to go into the dental hospital for an extraction of this tooth, as it also was causing her major problems, pain wise.

In NOT wanting to mask her dental problem, I temporarily treated the dental pain problem.

As the dental problem was being treated her sciatic pain started to alleviate, when treatment was stopped it started to return!

If I had not taken measurement readings, I would have been the same as all the other practitioners she had seen previously, in presuming it was more of a "structural / muscular" problem.

This is also another reason why I became a Registered Osteomyologist, as the Osteomyologists are encouraged to think laterally, instead of a blinkered approach.

I would have given her physical treatments, but would not have addressed the problem from the patients pain perspective or expectations, or for that matter my own inquisitive expectations.

The patient thanked me for at least taking the time and trouble to find out why and what was causing the problem, even though she still had the sciatic pain on leaving our clinic.

Post dental operation, the patient telephoned to say that her sciatica had cleared more or less just after the dental operation and removal on her back right molar.

The moral of the story is, that not every condition needs manipulation or physical treatments such as massage etc.

The use of EAV testing allowed me to look at other areas as opposed to only being able to assess the patient from a physical treatments basis, that had not been successful by other practitioners, as the patient had already given me in her case history.

EAV assessments and treatments are available at our clinic.
