What is Posture Control?

Has this anything to do with the Alexander technique used with posture?, no it is not the same.

Is it the same as Bowen technique?, no it is not the same.

Posture control is a treatment that re-aligns a persons body, with gentle tissue adjustments, it has nothing to do with the above therapies / treatments.

If you imagine a 'plumb line' hanging down, it will always be straight,

even if the room or wall are not straight.

The same applies to a persons spine, looking from the posterior (back), it should be straight, like the plumb line.

A frame is used to see if a persons body is in alignment and symmetrical to assess the persons spinal structural alignments.

This gentle technique was nearly forgotten and only re-discovered by chance, after a patient went to see a retired practitioner who treated the person with this system.

They then returned to the practitioner who they had been seeing, who made enquiries as to what and how this treatment had been given to the person.

It was then taught to other practitioners to help with their patients.

This treatment can be used with ANY spinal condition, it is best described as a  re-alignment of the body's structures, without any using force.

Only the body's own innate healing powers are utilised when the treatment and its techniques are applied.

After taking a case history the patient is assessed as to what body distortions are showing within their musculo-skeletal system.

Gentle tissue movements are then used to correct any anomalies found in the assessment.

Please Note : If patients require Orthotics (Arch supports for your feet), then another appointment will be necessary so that they can be assessed and measured for them before any further spinal postural control correction treatments are carried out.

If you require Orthodontic (Dental) assessment and treatment you will be referred to your dentist before any other treatments are administered.

You WILL benefit from the first initial posture control treatment but if you are assessed as needing Orthotics this will reduce the need for spinal posture control corrections.
