What is Osteomyology ?

The Association of Osteomyology was formed in 1993 as an umbrella organisation to bring together Professional Practitioners who wished to have a higher degree of expertise.

Both the  Chairman and Registrar had as a concept, the joining together of groups of Professionals with similar ambitions in mind.

The exchanging and inter-relating of treatment techniques proven by themselves and individually, in their various practices.

In the beginning, this proved to be extremely difficult. 

We all know that Colleges, Institutions, and Medical Practitioners, are brain washed from the very outset into believing that their discipline is the only way to go. 

After many years of clinical experience, it was found that this is totally untrue. 

They found themselves including in their treatment plans, Nutritional advice, The many and varied types of Massage and Soft tissue work, Aromatherapy, some Acupuncture techniques, advice on breathing, NLP, realignment of posture - using Posture Control or the Alexander Method, some Homeopathy, Manipulations, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Cranial, in fact the list was endless. 

They realised the amount of Practitioners working along these lines, after attending many seminars and CPD’s (Continuing Professional Development), to gain added expertise in their own particular field.

They then came to the conclusion that a large number of Practitioners would be interested, as they were, in studying and becoming competent with the techniques, skills and arts of other therapies, in helping with patients conditions presented.

From that moment on, they realised that all they had to do was to convince other likeminded professionals of the merit and satisfaction in other ways of working and approaching conditions. 

When you hold a certain belief and conviction, based on common sense and patient success, this shows in enthusiasm and excitement and can be passed on easily to other practitioner who are likeminded enthusiasts.

This has been the flag that they have been flying since 1993.

The entitlement of “OSTEOMYOLOGIST”, describes exactly what we do. 

We are students and qualified practitioners of nerve, bone, and muscles, using any discipline available to us that we have trained in, to bring relief and healing to our patients.

In 2006 the College of Osteomyology will open for professional training so that students can train in becoming a qualified and registered Professional
