| Today's Environment Health problems are many and varied, we hear all the 'usual' claims of smoking, arthritis, obesity, it's your age, what do you expect your a woman, etc., etc.
But, lets look at some disturbing facts that don't get blamed, like pollution that you cannot see or feel, and sometimes cannot taste but it affects hundreds if not millions of people World wide.
Like the fact that the Russians in the 'cold war' beamed microwave frequencies at the US embassy ambassador's office, he died with a brain tumour ? The CIA knew this was going on but didn't stop it as they used him as a guinea pig to see what would happen !
Like the studies done on cancer victims in populations with relevance to microwave transmissions. Now if you use a microwave oven then your half way there in 'nuking' / radiating your foods. I've seen vegans using these ovens and de-crying meat as being dead nutrition ? Interesting that Hospitals use them extensively for patients and staff, must have been a real 'healthy' executive decision ! Homer Simpson lives on, as I hear the cry, doh !
What you will notice is that most of the information is from the US, mainly because they have a freedom of information act, which is sadly being reduced daily as to what can be said to the public. In the UK it doesn't really matter, we'll tell you later or after, if your lucky ! Remember the fallout from Chernobyl and how it affected the UK and other countries World wide. Lets have a look at similar 'incidents' : In-Flight Radiation Exposure Radiation exposure from stars during plane flights has become a health concern, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal. Since 2000, European regulators have required airlines to track their crewmembers’ exposure to radiation and to educate them about the risks. The Federal Aviation Administration in the US has also asked airlines to educate their crews about in-flight radiation and has set up a radiation website. The US government has set the equivalent of 50 chest X-rays per year as being the safe limit of radiation exposure from flights, power plants, and radiology offices for the general population. Workers in these areas can legally be exposed to higher levels. To see how much radiation exposure can actually occur while flying, Wall Street Journal staff took two radiation monitors on flights that varied in length, altitude, longitude, and latitude. They found that flights near the equator encounter less radiation than those that fly near the poles, where radiation levels are highest. They also found that the greater the altitude, the higher the radiation levels because thinner atmosphere lets more radiation enter a plane. In addition, solar flares can raise radiation levels 20-100 times normal. The staff reported that a flight from Newark, New Jersey to Hong Kong provided the most radiation exposure, the equivalent of about three chest X-rays. They concluded that a person would have to fly about 100,000 miles per year to reach the 50 X-ray limit. Drucker, Jesse. Radiation in the Skies. The Wall Street Journal 2002 March 29; W1& W. Comment : what about the passengers ? Arsenic Poisoning The Seattle Post-Intelligencer (April 4, 2002) reports that arsenic, emitted by a copper smelter near Tacoma, Washington, had travelled on strong, sustained wind currents to contaminate over 200-square miles of southern King County (south of Seattle). Soil samples taken from some areas measure as much as 200+ parts per million, according to the Washington State Department of Ecology. Arsenic can cause bladder, skin, and lung cancers and may also contribute to liver, kidney, and prostate cancers. According to the article, “230 parts per million translates to one cancer case for every 2,000 people exposed.” The copper smelter, owned by Asarco, closed in 1985. Residents of Vashon and Maury Islands (just north of Tacoma) were warned about the contamination in April 2000, but King County officials had not realized that residents farther north and east also needed to take precautions. High levels of arsenic in the soil of Normandy Park, a prosperous neighbourhood south of Seattle, were discovered by Arlene Wade, who was trying to understand why her gardener and pets had died of cancer and why she had been the first in her family to develop lymphatic cancer. Soil samples taken from her neighbourhood revealed arsenic levels that were as much as 13 times higher than the 20 ppm permitted by the state without requiring clean-up. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer listed several measures, recommended by Seattle-King County Public Health Department, to reduce exposure to arsenic, lead, and other heavy metals in soil. The department suggests that exposed soil be covered with grass, wood chips, or gravel so that it is less likely to get stirred up as dust and tracked into buildings or vehicles. Removing shoes outside the house and frequent damp-mopping and dusting also lessen exposure. Keeping floors clean and frequent hand-washing are especially important when young children are present since they tend to stick objects, including fingers, into their mouths. Gardeners, like children and pets, are another vulnerable group. The health department recommends that gardeners dampen soil to reduce dust and that they wear gloves and shoes when working in the yard. In addition, the department suggests that gardeners create raised bed gardens, using clean dirt, to reduce exposure to toxic metals. McClure, Robert. Extensive arsenic pollution revealed. Seattle Post-Intelligencer 2002 April 4; pp A1 & A8 GE Salmon Blocked On July 29, 2002, United States District Judge Gene Carter formally approved a detailed Consent Degree that bans Heritage Salmon, Inc., from growing European and/or genetically-engineered (GE) salmon. Heritage (a subsidiary of the Canadian food conglomerate, George Weston, Ltd.), Atlantic Salmon of Maine, and Stolt Sea Farm were sued by the United States Public Interest Research Group (US PIRG) in July 2000, “for illegally discharging pollutants into the ocean without Clean Water Act discharge permits.” (Trial date for the Atlantic Salmon and Stolt cases was set for October 7, 2002.) The Consent Degree addresses several problems caused by fish farms, such as Heritage Salmon. According to an ABCNews.com report by Dean Schabner, 300,000 fish have escaped from fish farm pens off Maine’s coast. These escaped fish pass disease onto their wild cousins. Disease outbreaks, such as infectious salmon anaemia, are common among salmon grown in crowded fish pens. In addition, these fish interbreed with wild salmon, producing less hardy offspring. GE Salmon pose an even greater threat. The Centre for Food Safety reports that GE salmon grow considerably faster than natural salmon because of an inserted growth hormone gene taken from another species of fish. Purdue University researchers have found that the larger size gives GE fish a mating advantage but that the offspring of GE fish have a third greater mortality rate. According to the Centre for Food Safety, “the Purdue scientists predict that the introduction of GE fish would cause extinction of native species within only a few generations.” Dr. Sherry Rogers pointed out another problem with GE salmon in her monthly newsletter Total Wellness (May 2001): Rous sarcoma virus, a virus known to cause cancer in chickens, has been used as a vector to implant the growth hormone gene into GE salmon. The long-term effect on the fish and on those who eat the fish is simply unknown. In addition to the European and GE salmon ban, Heritage Salmon has also agreed to limit stocking density in order to minimize disease outbreaks; take greater measures to protect wild salmon from interaction with farmed fish; and to fallow its farm sites to reduce disease outbreaks. Prophylactic antibiotic use is also forbidden, and experimental drugs cannot be used without approval by an environmental agency. National Environmental Law Center. Genetic Risk for Organophosphate Toxicity A study funded by the United Kingdom government and published in Lancet (2002; 359:763-64), reports that genetic make-up may explain why some farmers react poorly to organophosphate dips used to kill parasites on sheep and others do not. According to a BBC news report, hundreds of farm workers have blamed exposure to sheep dip pesticide for causing fatigue, memory loss, weakness, joint and muscle pain, and depression. Nicola Cherry and colleagues compared the gene responsible for human serum paraoxonase in 175 farmers, who claimed poor health because of sheep dip exposure, to the same gene in 234 farmers with good health, who also used sheep dip. Paraoxonase is an enzyme that the body uses to break down toxic chemicals. The researchers found that the sickly farmers were almost twice as likely to have genetic variations that would make this enzyme less effective. According to BBC News, Professor Cherry stated: “The results provide support to those who believe that repeated exposure to organophosphates may cause chronic ill health. Sheep dippers in the UK are one important group, but there are many people worldwide who are exposed to these chemicals, and whose health may be affected as a result.” Research backs sheep dip claims. Some farmers prone to pesticide-associated illness. Reuters Health 2002 March 1. Comment : Now if I remember right and being sarcastic, the skin is an organ ? It can also absorb 'stuff', I wonder what has been left out about the sheep absorbing and humans eating it ? If your a vegan and smiling re-read the soil above your not immune !
Aging Sewers & Water Quality The 1972 Clean Water Act ordered cities to reduce the discharge of raw sewage into waterways. These same waterways are often a source of food and drinking water. The Act also provided funding to expand wastewater treatment plants. About 40% of the US population using municipal wastewater systems did not have sewage treatment in 1970. Before the Clean Water Act, Manhattan’s West Side dumped 300 million gallons of raw sewage into the Hudson River each day. Twenty-five years after the Clean Water Act became law, twice as many people were using municipal sewer systems, and pollution from sewage had dropped by 40%. But federal funding has decreased. Population growth and aging sewer systems, however, have increased the demand for repairs and new treatment plants. Throughout the country, sanitary systems overflow an estimated 40,000 times and sewers back up into basements 400,000 times according to a US News & World Report article (June 12, 2000) by David Whitman. Poor sanitation means more illness. Sanitary-sewer overflows of raw sewage spread bacteria, viruses, intestinal worms, and parasites, causing illness in an estimated one million people each year, according to an EPA draft In 1993, 135 people in Milwaukee were infected by a parasite, Cryptosporidia, that had infected the water supply. Fifty-four died. Sewage also contaminates shellfish beds, forcing their closure. In addition to disease-causing organisms, sewage waste is loaded with toxic substances. An estimated 51 million pounds of toxic chemicals flowed from municipal sewage plants into US waterways during 1997. To upgrade these aging sewer systems, towns across the country are passing the cost on to consumers. Residents in Lynchburg, Virginia and Wheeling, West Virginia, may end up paying more than $15,000 per household. Whitman, David. The sickening sewer crisis. US News & World Report 2000 June 12; pp.16-18. Comment : Were OK, especially in London we use re-cycled urine in some areas ! I wonder if this has anything to do with shell fish in the Southport area not being edible, or is it just Heysham Nuclear power Stations discharges ?
UK Electricity Pylons
After all the denials and vilifying of Cyril Smith and Roger Coghill about power lines, on the eve of Aprils fools day 2004 they announce that having electricity pylons near your house is bad for your health because of the radiation - leukaemia ? No doubt someone will have discovered it after being told of the dangers for years ! Even though in Russia it has been known for years and houses are not allowed to be built within 50 meters of these so called 'safe areas'. Sub stations are just as bad for your health, whether they be on the ground or on telegraph poles. If your interested in subjects like this then you should read books articles by Cyril Smith and Roger Coghill.
Buying a House ?
Apart from the above electricity pylons you should always search and ask about the house that you are considering purchasing, why, well read on ........ We live in complex magnetic fields that can and do affect our health in one way or another. A new patient (aircraft engineer) came into the clinic for a physical treatment and while taking down his case history it became apparent that he needed a bit more than just physical treatment. So after after examining him I asked if he would humour me while I checked a few things out against his many complaints. The result was that I told him that where he was living was bad for his health and also his families health (at this moment in time all we were short of was the X-files music going on in the background !). He then asked me what sort of health problems (remember I've never seen him and he lives in an area that I don't know about), so I said that the worst of worst would be cancer and that other people where he lived would have similar health problems ? What was I finding ? It was running water either as an underground stream or river that was affecting his property and family health. The treatment room was pretty quite while he considered what I had said (probably thought it was best to humour this psycho !), anyway he left the clinic bewildered without saying too much ! 1 week later he telephoned and spoke to me. He asked how the hell did I know that his wife had cancer and that there was an underground river running under their house ? What's more he had managed to get detailed plans of the area where they lived on a new exclusive housing estate, which indicated the river and its course. He had then made enquiries about other residents and where the river ran, there were cases of ill health plus 2 other people with cancer. Non of the people mentioned had ill health or cancer before moving into their new respective houses ? As a bye the way, non of them smoked either ! Once we had a new patient who was a librarian who came in for testing, after testing some other people from the same area and I said to her that it was a bad area where she was living with relevance to her health problems. On her 2nd appointment she produced a copy of a map from the towns archives and the land upon which the housing estate had been built was just a farming area, written across this map area was BAD LANDS ! The history that came with the map was that nothing would grow on this land properly crops died without any apparent reason and cattle and sheep became ill if left there for grazing ! So the land was sold and houses where built upon it !
If you go back to the 'olden days' or ask you will hear a common statement made by people, who didn't know why, but knew that something wasn't right ! "Don't live in that house, its a bad one people are always ill that live in it." Look at all the people that get conned into buying houses in flood areas, nature has a way of hitting back even if we think we can control it, we can't ! Look, listen and ask before you buy !
Breathing Difficulties - Smoking or Asthma ? Smoking is bad for you - yes we whole heartedly agree !! Smoking or secondary smoking has caused your illness, no we do not agree all the time ! Lets look at some facts :- Pre 1930's more or less everyone smoked in a heavily induced industrial atmosphere. Lung cancer was relatively unknown as a 'disease' World Health Authority. Since 1930 the number of smokers has reduced and industrial pollution has decreased each year. BUT lung cancer has as a minimum increased 10 fold every decade ???
Nothing to do with the increase of carbon monoxide fumes from cars. Just for a minute think about what if you sat in a car that was full of cigarette smoke what would happen ? Now think about sitting in the same car with the window slightly open and its full of carbon monoxide ? Which would kill you !? Which do you think would affect your health more ?
But, its OK to carry on with carbon monoxide its not affecting you, yes we have changed and modified exhausts so there is less carbon monoxide, not all cars have catalytic converters. The let down is vehicle traffic has increased 3 fold at least so output of carbon monoxide has increased 3 fold if not more ! In summer what will the pubs be doing ? Putting seating outside, opening their windows to get 'fresh air' circulation, and you will be much better off as no smoking will be allowed inside, yeah all right ? What about the carbon monoxide though, especially at road side pubs ?
April 30, 2003 -- Car exhaust lowers male fertility. That's the bottom line of a study that found sperm damage in men exposed to traffic pollution.
Everyone knows that smog is bad for the lungs. Now it looks as though it hits men where it really hurts.
Michele De Rosa and colleagues at the University of Naples, Italy, analyzed sperm from 85 men working as toll attendants on Italian highways and from 85 other men -- matched for age -- living in the same area.
The finding: Men exposed to car fumes didn't have fewer sperm. But their sperm were weak, short lived, and unable to swim properly. In short, they were damaged.
"All sperm parameters except sperm count and volume were deranged in subjects continuously exposed to environmental pollutants," De Rosa and colleagues write in the April 30 issue of Human Reproduction.
Nitrogen oxides and lead in the car exhaust appeared to be the most sperm-damaging ingredients of car exhaust. "Health authorities should be alert to the insidious health effects of environmental pollutants," De Rosa et al. conclude.

Nothing to do with cancer causing food additives or preservatives. Nothing to do with herbicides or pesticides. Recent news states that the USA Environmental Protection Agency had planned to spend nine million dollars - $2 million of it from the administration's friends at the American Chemistry Council - to pay poor families to continue to use pesticides in their homes. These pesticides have been linked to neurological damage in children, but instead of ordering an end to their use, the government and the industry were going to offer the families $970 each, as well as a camcorder and children's clothing, to serve as guinea pigs for the study. So if your poor and live in America you can video yours and your own children's slow death, have they found a new way of genocide of the poor, or will the video's be turned into new reality shows ?
It's estimated that more than 600 million pounds of herbicides and pesticides are applied in the United States each year for commercial and residential use. These are chemicals used to control weeds and pests. These chemicals are also leaching into public water supplies. In fact, atrazine, is possibly the most heavily used herbicide in the US, it is found in many public water supplies. Atrazine is thought to cause many health problems. For example, several recent studies have found exposure to atrazine increases the risk of prostate cancer. This pesticide is linked to congestion of the heart, lung and kidneys, as well as low blood pressure, muscle spasm, weight loss and damage to the adrenal glands, you know the conditions and symptoms that you really want to have ! Is your drinking water filtered as it should be ?
Nothing to do with gas central heating, using the oxygen up in your home. Nothing to do with the massive increase and usage of pharmaceutical products with known side effects. Who admit that onwards of 90% of their products don't work for the condition they were prescribed for anyway ? Source - CEO of a major pharmaceutical company !
Nothing to do with the very thing that I'm using now (computer) and its chemical fumes and radiation. Nothing to do with microwaves or microwave radio transmissions. The list is virtually endless, but its smoking that caused everything !
No its smoking and if you have never smoked you shouldn't have been near someone who did, if you did at all ?
I have yet to have it explained to me how a 93 year old and above who have smoked all their lives have not got lung cancer ? One of the oldest people to live in the UK smoked every day ?? Yes, they had breathing problems but not lung cancer ?
Why smoking, well to a certain extent its a 'red herring' for poor diagnosis or preventative treatment or actions before the fact. Before the fact its your age, arthritis or the in 'vogue' smoking or secondary smoking, which is now slowly changing to over consumption of alcohol and eating, not the foods or the way that they are adulterated ?
Smoking will give you heart problems ? Well yes it can, but again explain why do people like Tony Blair who don't smoke have heart problems or is he really a secrete smoker or sniffer ? Or the gentleman that started the marathon runs for the British Heart Foundation, who dropped dead with a heart attack while doing a marathon ? Previously he had no known heart condition and didn't smoke. Of course running in car fumes does not cause any problems or raise acidity problems, does it ?
We see more patients with heart related problems that don't and have never smoked than those that have smoked ? The most recent patient was told that her blood pressures were fine (yeah all right), and nothing to worry about at 123/53 = an overworked heart or an insipient hypertrophy or a failing heart ? Told she will be fine and does not need to be seen for 12 months, if she's still living ! Another patient who's finger nails were blue, BP was low, had cold extremities and varicose veins told by GP everything is fine - she is 25 years old for Gods sake ? No, she doesn't smoke and never has !!
Asthma has increased, well according to the medical profession it has with vast numbers of inhalers being given to children to help their breathing / respiration. These inhalers are STEROIDS, so perhaps you should read about what steroids can do 'health damage wise' before allowing your children to use an inhaler ? Does this mean that they are steroid deficient, if so its a new disease !!! Try walking your children to school instead of increasing the carbon monoxide fumes around them while travelling in the car to school and then around their school and other children. I know its an inconvenience, but then again so is health in a lot of ways.
What I am really getting at is that we are being brainwashed into thinking that EVERYTHING is caused by smoking, when its obviously not !
What are NOT USED in health related problems are common sense, objective thinking and rationales with 'true' clinical findings by the scientific / medical profession and ordinary people like yourself.
Don't just accept one persons views or supposedly scientific findings, history is littered with scientific findings that have been funded by 'vested agendas and interests' and still are being funded by them !
Look - Listen - Think Objectively
Interestingly a study of childhood Asthma has now just been concluded 24/12/04, after all the smoking bashing that its household chemicals that are the cause of children's Asthma !! It was found that chemicals used more extensively in the home were the culprits over a 2 year study ! Their still on inhalers though ?
Put a Budgie in the Kitchen ?
May sound funny at first but it could be deadly serious ! A group of chemicals, per-fluoro-chemicals (PFCs), that are found in many products, and increasingly in human tissues. In the USA Teflon® is used in many products, a syndrome called Teflon flu has been identified after people reported being exposed to overheated pots and pans and not feeling well.
This Teflon flu is fatal to small birds. These chemicals out gas and are indestructible.
So throw out your expensive Teflon pots / pans and bring back the cast iron pots and pans. Dangerous herbal medicines contain heavy metals MHRA warns The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has warned that potentially dangerous herbal medicines could be on sale in Britain. Officials are surveying retailers to see if the medicines, which claim to treat a range of problems from skin disease to indigestion, are on sale. They have been found on sale in Canada containing heavy metals. MGRA director Roy Alder said: "Many of the products we suspect to have entered the UK may contain mercury, arsenic and lead. These metals can cause severe nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Other serious problems such as kidney damage, convulsions and coma have also been reported." Individuals who believe they may have taken any of the products should discontinue use and consult their pharmacist or doctor. The products and their manufacturers that the MHRA is warning consumers against are:

Don't worry they have a 'feeling' !
Funny how you hear the terms clinical evidence, research. Latest research on the antibiotic Amoxicillin for babies and small children has concluded that the fluoride contained within the antibiotic is causing fluorosis. Fluorosis is a condition were the teeth become pitied and stained brown. They said the drug appears to be linked to the enamel damage in permanent teeth. The more children took the drug, the more teeth were affected, Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine study found.
The English research presented for this was we have a 'feeling' that this cannot be true, no research, no clinical studies, just a 'feeling' ? "My feeling is that despite in-depth statistical analyses it is likely to be the illness itself which is causing the developmental defects in enamel". They were talking about dental infections, the oldest in the study was 23 months old ?
Who made this statement, a spokesperson for the BDA, it's nice to know that your dental health is at the forefront of their non research. _________
Fluoridation of water supplies according to Government is 'good' for you ? The NHS is supporting this view that it will enhance 'health' BUT they are ignoring the "true science" ? I wonder what the objectives are in using a known toxic halogen in the water supply ?

Preliminary report on data from analysis of national sample of over 4,000 children in NHANES III, showing that while water fluoridation is associated with a significant increase in children's blood lead (with especially strong effects among minority children), data on tooth decay from the same survey show limited benefits that are no longer evident among those aged 15-17. Coplan, M. J., Masters, R. D., and Hone, B. (1999c) "Association of Silicofluoride Treated Water with Elevated Blood Lead," Poster Presentation to 17th International Neurotoxicology Conference, Little Rock, AR, October 17, 1999. Preliminary report on date from analysis of sample of blood lead testing of over 150,000 children in New York State communities of 15,000 to 75,000 population. Once again, average blood lead levels were significantly higher (p < .0001) in communitites using SiF in water treatment than in those with unfluoridated water. The effect was found independently in every age group for three ethnic subsamples. Masters, Roger D. (2002) "Science, Bureaucracy and Public Policy: Can Scientific Inquiry Prevail Over Entrenched Institutional Self-Interest?" presentation at the annual meeting of hte Association for Politics and the Life Sciences, Montreal, Que. (August 19-23, 2002). Analysis of bureaucratic opposition to reconsideration of public policy decisions challenged by new data on SiF chemistry and its effects on human biology and behavior. (2004) "The Hidden Handicap: Lead, Brain Chemistry, and Educational Failure," Paper presented to 2004 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association, Chicago, IL., Sept. 3, 2004. Evidence linking higher rates of children iwth over 10-9g/dL of blood lead iwth lower community average scores in Massachusetts' standardized tests in seven different subjects and grade. These findings, showing significant effects controlling for a wide range of socio-economic and demographic factors, confirm earlier research by linking toxicity with lower scores on types of tests used in programs like "No Child Left Behind." When asked for science based studies in support and contradiction as to Fluoride being a highly toxic substance. The Government and or the NHS cannot provide any, the perceived propaganda that it streghthens bone tissue is an out and out propaganda lie !
Is it Organic Milk or is it NOT Organic Milk ? To any of you interested in Organic food, (This isn’t necessarily about Milk – if the Giants of the food industry are allowed to violate standards with impunity, the term “organic” will have little to no real meaning.) I came across this important alert and thought you might be interested. It's from the Organic Consumers Association. The watchdog group Cornucopia Institute published a long-awaited report on organic dairy practices in the USA on March 22, and the facts are rather sobering. The good news is that most organic dairies in the U.S. are following strict organic standards, including giving animals regular access to pasture. The bad news is that several major players in the organic dairy sector are blatantly violating organic standards. Two of the largest organic dairy companies in the nation, Horizon Organic (a subsidiary of Dean Foods); and Aurora Organic, a supplier of private brand name organic milk to Costco, Safeway, Giant, and others, who together control 65 percent of the market, are purchasing the majority of their milk from feedlot dairies where the cows have little or no access to pasture. In addition, a routine practice on these giant dairy feedlots, many with thousands of cows, is to continuously import calves from conventional farms, where animals have been weaned on blood, fed slaughterhouse waste and genetically engineered grains, and injected or dosed with antibiotics. Send a message to the National Organic Program of the USDA to stop the labelling of factory farm milk as "organic."
